Changes at Planmeca mark of success with group practices

From corporate DSOs to group buying organizations, the growth of group space has set a ripple of change throughout the dental industry as organizations adapt to this major growth market. Planmeca is reenergized for the next phase of growth in the changing group space.

With no exception, critical wins for Planmeca have helped drive recent organizational changes. Two recent moves within the organization now support the growing business successes to build strategic accounts and take the best practices adaptable to the private practice and institutional markets.

Glen Kendrick has been elevated to President of Planmeca USA, leading the North American operations. Glen’s 20 plus years with Planmeca have been highlighted by hisGLEN_KENDRICK_FINAL_1037 passion for building relationships with dealer partners and clinicians in driving the business forward to best serve their needs. “I have a bias towards action and focus on growth, and I am open to big ideas that move our business forward. The path ahead is not always easy, but I focus on building on our strengths to fortify our position and set the course for the future,” stated Kendrick.

Glen forecasts a bright future for Planmeca due to changes to increase revenue and profitability that will serve the entire organization. “We have opportunities to grow, reinvest in our business and reap the benefits of new partnerships.”

Rudy Wolf Jr. has been promoted to Vice President of Sales and Strategic Accounts, focusing on balancing the increasing growth across private and group practices. Wolf joined Planmeca in 2019 as the Director of DSO sales. He hit the ground running, forming a team, and implementing strategies to win in the DSO space. Success resulted in his promotion to oversee the larger Strategic Account team, including educational and institutional markets, where clinical educators and the next generation of dentists experience Planmeca imaging and CAD/CAM equipment. With double-digit growth in the DSO market, the logical course for the business is to have Rudy set the course for the larger sales team.

The significant growth under Wolf’s leadership was crucial in bringing his keen insights toRUDY_WOLF_FINAL_0985 leadership for sales to all market sectors. With a proven track record in the dental industry in both the manufacturer and dealership sectors, Wolf has continued to focus on sustaining the relationships that get results. “I am honored to be able to step into this new role at a demanding time in dental,” noted Wolf. “We have a passionate team of professionals ready to do what it takes to take care of our customers and dealer partners. From the account managers and field service to ongoing education and clinical trainers, Planmeca uniquely fosters the long-term commitments to promote better dental care. I am anxious to bring the lessons learned in the strategic space across the entire organization and build on those wins.”

This reorganization follows a vital win for Planmeca and the Henry Schein Dental Strategic Accounts team with the commitment of Planmeca 3D and intra-oral imaging technologies into over 75 ClearChoice™ Dental Implant Centers locations across the country. After a rigorous pilot program, the clinical board chose Planmeca imaging for the features aligned with a patient-centric approach to total care. After a candid review, the Planmeca Viso® G7 met the robust demands for premium implant dentistry with its precise image quality and innovative features.

The ClearChoice approach unites the entire dental team, including prosthodontists and oral surgeons, for successful treatment in one center. Planmeca Viso offers a comprehensive volume selection to cover all clinical needs, and the flexibility to adjust volume sizes with precise maxillofacial imaging provides a higher degree of medicine. Included with Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ for a large field of view with low levels of patient radiation, the choice of Planmeca reflects ClearChoice Management Services’ commitment to patient safety in promoting improved oral health.

The partnership with Planmeca brought more than products to the table. A community to train and support – working in tandem with Henry Schein Dental is critical to an ongoing relationship. “It all stems from Planmeca’s vision and mission,” said Wolf. “We not only live by our vision – Better Care Through Innovation – we focus on a key portion of our mission statement – to provide superior value to healthcare professionals. All through the process, we find where in the workflow we can bring value to patient engagement and what is meaningful to the care team. We engage with our customers to couch up and educate and elevate the level of care. Ultimately clinicians can do more for their patients and significantly impact their overall health.”

The Planmeca team has its sights on a very bright future for dental medicine. “We are ready for the next evolution in dentistry. We don’t shy away from challenges, and I look forward to leading the industry into a transforming market,” concluded Kendrick.
