Thurston Group Announces Formation of 60-clinic DSO in Southeast, SGA Dental Partners
Thurston Group announced the formation of SGA Dental Partners, a DSO created by combining Dental Partners of Southwest Georgia, Garner Dental Group, and South Georgia Dental Management. The three equal partners now comprise 60 clinic locations in secondary markets in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The DSO serves smaller, often rural communities in the Southeast and plans further expansion in 2022
US Endo Partners Announces New Partnerships
This specialty DSO based in Irving, TX, recently added the following practices: Orchard Endodontics (Dr. Jay Lang) in Shelby Township, MI; and Eagles Pointe Endodontics (Dr. Paul Shepherd) in Stockbridge, GA. US Endo Partners considers itself a specialty Services Partnership (SSP). Additionally, the Foundation for Endodontics (the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Endodontists), together with US Endo Partners, are launching the Foundation for Endodontics & US Endo Partners Domestic Access to Care Program, which will aid endodontic specialists in providing free access to care for underserved patients.
USOSM Announces Second Partnership in California and Enters Washington Market
USOSM is a specialty management services company that serves premier oral and maxillofacial surgeons exclusively. The group just partnered with Parkside Oral Surgery & Implant Center in Alameda, CA, as well as Esmail Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery in Bellingham, WA. USOSM, led by Richard Hall, has partner practices in 19 states.

Oxford Finance Leads $660 Million Upsize Financing for Specialty Dental Brands
Oxford Finance LLC announced the closing a $660 million senior credit facility to Specialty Dental Brands (SDB), a niche DSO focused on pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery. Oxford was the sole bookrunner and administrative agent on the transaction. Proceeds will refinance the SDB’s existing debt and finance add-on acquisitions. Oxford provided SDB with a $74 million senior credit facility in September 2020. SDB has opened a new headquarters in Nashville, in addition to adding five new doctor groups.

was appointed VP of Operations for Gen4 Dental Partners. Most recently she was VP of Customer Experience at Vyne Dental. Previous experience includes a consultant at Dental Whale; VP, Customer Success – Practice Growth at Spear Education; and as product and sales manager for Henry Schein.
Paul Ierardi is the new VP of Operations at Heartland Dental. He started as a regional administrator more than 10 years ago and later became regional director of operations. Previous experience included Lowe’s Companies, Inc, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Heartland Dental supports more than 2,300 dentists in more than 1,500 offices across 38 states.

Angela Michlig was promoted to Senior Compliance Manager at Smile Brands. She stared with the DSO in 2021 as clinical programs manager. She has been a council member at the American Dental Assistants Association – Council on Education for the last 6 years and spent three decades at Midwest Dental as their manager of clinical programs.
Vikash Jhunjhunwala joins Western Dental as Senior Vice President of Finance. Vikash has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, including 12 years at Aramark Corporation and Republic Services Inc. Most recently he was VP of Finance for Athens Services. Western Dental and its supported affiliates serve three million patient visits annually in 354 offices in California, Texas, Arizona, Alabama, and Nevada.
